Membership Meeting & Board Election 2019

Annual Membership Meeting & Election

The Arena Theater Annual Member Meeting & Board Election will take place from 6-9pm on Monday, April 22. There are 3 Director Seats up for election. Please vote for no more than 3 candidates. The 3 candidates who receive the most votes will become Directors.

Because the Arena Theater bylaws provide that voting at its annual meeting may only occur if a quorum (30 members) is met, it is preferred that members physically attend the meeting. Ballots will only be collected at that time. The theater doors will open at 6 p.m., and votes will be accepted until 8 p.m.  In the event a member is unable to attend the annual meeting, he or she may vote absentee. You can obtain an absentee ballot by downloading a pdf or in the theater office during regular business hours (Mon-Wed-Fri 10 am to 3 pm, Thursdays 9 am to 1 pm).

Instructions for Absentee Voting:

  • Mark your choices on the ballot.
  • Fold the ballot and place in an envelope.
  • Put your name on the outside of the envelope so we can verify your current membership.
  • Drop off ballot at the theater business office or mail to:  Arena Theater Association, PO Box 611, Point Arena, CA 95468
  • Absentee ballots must be received no later than April 22, 2019 to be counted.

2019 Board Candidate Statements

Paul Anderson
I am interested in serving on the Arena Theater Association Board of Directors because I’m a cinema and live music aficionado. I want to help ensure that the Theater remains an integral and successful part of Point Arena and the South Coast.

Steven Archer
My wife and I moved to Gualala in July 2017, and became members of the Arena Theater. I had the privilege of serving as a member of the Board of Directors for several non-profit organizations in Los Angeles and I missed the opportunity to give back to my community. After attending Arena Theater Board of Directors, Membership Committee and Fundraising Committee meetings I have developed an appreciation for the hard work and commitment that the present Board members have and continue to demonstrate. I hope that I might contribute to the Theater’s continued success and respectfully submit my name for a position on the Board.

It has been an honor to have served as an Arena Theater board member for the last 6 years. I would like nothing more than to be able to continue to serve our theater and our community for another term. During this time I have served as facilities director and over the last 2 years as vice president and member of the facilities committee. I also am active with the theater serving as the bartender during live events. It would be a pleasure to continue to serve as a board member of the Arena Theater.

Kat Gleason
I am a katalystic connector! I have lived in the area nearly 30 years, and I have that much experience in the music industry, producing shows and events locally and regionally. I’ve served on the Arena Theater Programming Committee the last two years and have managed and produced several shows here at the theater. I will bring the kind of live events that locals enjoy while also attracting folks from throughout the greater region.

The Arena Theater Association will hold its Annual Membership Meeting on Monday, April 22, at 6 p.m., at the theater. For more information, people can contact the Arena Theater office at (707) 882-3272.
