COMMUNITY FILM/MUSIC ON FILM NITE

Arena Theater supports community involvement, and we invite community members to screen their films and present film festivals here. Please contact us for details if you would like to show your independent movie or share an idea for a screening with us.

Music on Film Nite 2020 will continue to offer exciting music documentaries covering genres and performers from rock ‘n’ roll to blues, punk, hip-hop and more on the third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.

On the playlist:

  • Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story by filmmaker Martin Scorsese chronicling the troubled spirit of America in 1975 along with the joyous music that Dylan performed during the fall of that year.
  • Eric Clapton: Life In 12 Bars: This film contextualizes Clapton’s role in contemporary music and cultural history
  • Jimi Hendrix: Electric Church: captures Hendrix’ 1970 set at the Atlanta International Pop Festival
  • Muscle Shoals: the story of Rich Hall, who brought black and white together in a cauldron of racial hostility to create music for the generations.
  • Standing In The Shadows Of Motown: This documentary mixes performances, interviews and reenactments to celebrate the Funk Brothers, the 1960s soul hit makers and musicians behind the Temptations, the Four Tops and others.
